Medical

The Commission comprises members appointed by the Executive Board whose terms of appointment are four years with the option of further terms, appoints its Chairperson and Secretary from within its members. The FASANOC Medical Commission constitutes the following members: 2 medical doctors, physiotherapists, sports scientists and administrators, an Athletes’ Representative and a representative from the National Federations.

The Commission identifies medical and paramedical personnel holding Honorary positions with Sports Associations, organises and conducts courses in Sports Medicine and Sports Sciences in Fiji. organises medical and paramedical support for international sports competitions conducted in Fiji (when invited), is available and assists members and intending members of FASANOC with problems of a sports medicine nature.

It also provides a screening medical service to all National teams going to Regional and International Games under the control of FASANOC and to those National Federations that request it, advises FASANOC on the selection of Medical teams accompanying National Teams under the control of FASANOC, and seeks skill medical personnel in the areas of sports medicine.
