Highlights

Governance:

  1. AGM held in March 2020 to elect new office bearers
  2. Facilitated the change in trustee details for Netball Fiji at the Registrar of Titles which had not been changed since 2000
  3. Attained Netball Ready Accreditation Certification allowing our return to sport at domestic level

Development:

  1. Advertised and recruited NF Administrator
  2. Re-advertised and recruited NF National Coach
  3. Realigning and re-strategising NF development plan and structures to suit current environment and NF priorities
  4. Coaching workshops conducted – 15
  5. Technical (Umpiring and Bench Official Training) conducted – 5
  6. OSEP Courses attended – Team Managers, Nadi; MISO, Nadi

Competitions:

  1. Despite the pandemic in 2020, the NF team managed to conduct a Netball ResetChampionship in partnership with its sponsors Digicel and Punjas. This competition showcased 44 of the current national squad members both in the open and U21 grades. The competition was held over a 5-week period in October-November.
    Outcomes achieved:  2 squads were named:National Open Squad and Fiji A; Up-skilling of umpires, bench officials and volunteers; Men’s team were invited as curtain raisers for the finals(Inclusivity); Tournament was organised and mirrored the running of anInternational match.
  2. NF conducted 2 training camps with the current Open and Fiji A squads
  3. Assisted and provided support to Districts in getting back to sport post COVID.

Commercial Viability

  1. Accounts audited and passed at AGM
  2. Conducted successful Netball Reset Championship with mileage to sponsors over the 5 week program
  3. Conducted positive netball news in the media and with stakeholders
  4. Conducted stakeholder meetings with Think Pacific, FNSC, FASANOC, DFAT,Digicel, Punjas, NF Council
  5. Conducted corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity with the Ministry of Forestry in planting 1000 mangroves at the Lami foreshore with the national squad athletes that took part at the Reset Netball Championship
