FASANOC welcomes Paradise Beverages the Presenting Partner at the 2019 Hall of Fame and Fiji Olympic Order that will be held on the 15th of March, 2019, in Nadi, Fiji.
FASANOC welcomes Paradise Beverages who have once again thrown its support behind Sports in the country by becoming the Presenting Partner at the 2019 Hall of Fame and Fiji Olympic Order that will be held on the 15th of March, 2019.
General Manager Sales and Corporate Affairs, Joseph Rodan, said that this was Paradise Beverages’ second year as Presenting Partner.
"This is a prestigious red carpet event and we are glad to be a part of an event that recognises the athletes who have represented Fiji abroad with distinction and the administrators that work hard behind the scenes," said Mr Rodan.
He said it was special that this year’s Hall of Fame and Olympic Order event coincided with ONOC's Annual General Assembly.
Mr Rodan said Paradise Beverages has a rich history with sports not only as sponsors but also having athletes and administrators as part of the Paradise Beverages family.
"These athletes and sports administrators contribution to the Paradise Beverages family is also a testament to their dedication to their chosen sport," he said.
"Hard work, discipline, dedication and team work are some of the traits that all athletes and sports administrators have which we at Paradise Beverages value."
The Fiji Sports Hall of Fame was inaugurated in 1990 by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee, as an everlasting tribute to sportsmen and sportswomen of Fiji.
The Hall of Fame acknowledges and honours Fiji’s super athletes who have competed in Fiji and abroad against the best in the world.Many have excelled and brought glory and fame to themselves, their sport and to Fiji as a nation and deserve to be recognized and remembered by the people of Fiji.
The Fiji Olympic Order was inaugurated in 2001 to recognize the invaluable contributions of volunteers in the areas of:
• Sports Administration
• Sports Management
• Coaching/Technical aspects of Sports Development
• Sports Medicine
Every year nominations are called for from National Sporting bodies and members of the general public for both honours.
The selection of the successful candidates is the responsibility of an independent panel of judges, whose decision is final.
Forty two “all timeFiji sporting greats,” plus the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Team Fiji Rugby 7s Men’sTeam, have been inducted into the Fiji Sports Hall Of Fame and twenty four outstanding sports personnel havebeen conferred the Fiji Olympic Order. The most recent were 2018 Inductee, 2002 Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist in Judo, Naca Takayawa and FijiOlympic Order Recipients, Professor Eddie McCaig and Susan Yee, who wererecognized for their long service to sport. FASANOC is verygrateful for Paradise Beverages’ supportof this prestigious Awards recognition initiative.
