Olympic Coach Is Guest Speaker At 2022 Fiji Sports Awards

The Fiji Sports Awards Committee is delighted to welcome Steve Anderson as the Guest Speaker at the 2022 Fiji Sports Awards Dinner to be held Saturday on 25 March, at the Vodafone Arena.

Steve is a highly successful beach volleyball coach who won Olympic Gold and Bronze medals with the Australian Women's Beach Volleyball team in 2000 and 1996 respectively. He is recognized as one of the top beach coaches in the world. Steve's life purpose is to help people uncover their individual abilities and create deliberate legacies.

He has coached the Vanuatu Women's Beach Volleyball team to a bronze medal at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games and has coached professional Beach Volleyball athletes from 14 different countries including: Canada, Australia, USA, Japan, Costa Rica, England, New Zealand, Indonesia, Jamaica, France, Switzerland, Angola, Denmark and Vanuatu.

Organising Committee member, Lyndall Fisher said, “We are grateful to secure the services of an Olympic Medal winning coach who specializes in peak performance and I’m sure his key note message will help all sports here in Fiji as they prepare for the 2023 Pacific Games and other competitions”.

Steve is the first African American to coach an Olympic team in either indoor or beach volleyball and also the first African American to win an Olympic Gold Medal in either discipline.

Steve is one of three coaches who coached at five of the six first Olympic Games where beach volleyball has been included and is recognized by many as one of the top beach coaches in the world!

Steve specializes in professional and personal development, coaching peak performance under pressure, sustainable excellence, connecting purpose to performance, energizing employees, building champion teams, and creating work-life harmony.
