Women Volleyballers Happy With Bronze

Team Fiji Womens Volleyball team is happy to come away from the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands with a bronze medal after their win against Team American Samoa 2 sets to 1.

Fiji head coach and former national volleyball rep Varanisese Logavatu said the team had a lot of young athletes were participating at their first ever regional competition.

"This win means a lot to the girls, most are playing in their first Pacific Games and to come away with a medal is special," she said.

"Throughout the tournament our defence has been our strenght and we have been very active in that aspect of the game.

"However, inexperience cost us a game which is why we were in the bronze medal playoff."

Logavatu said as a team they are happy with the outcome and getting bronze medal is motivation to improve and aim higher for the next Pacific Games.
