The Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Games Association announced the Sports Programme for Trinbago and Tobago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) which has been confirmed with seven sports set to feature from 4-11 August 2023, featuring athletes aged between 14 years old to 18 years old.

The seven sports that will feature at the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games are:
Aquatics (Swimming) – male and female
Athletics – male and female
Cycling - (Road Race, Time Trial and Track) – male and female
FAST5 Netball – female
Rugby Sevens – male and female
Triathlon – male and female
Beach Volleyball – male and female
Commonwealth Sport President Dame Louise Martin said: “We are delighted to confirm the Sport Programme for the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, featuring much-anticipated debuts in the Youth Games for the dynamic and innovative FAST5 Netball and Triathlon. It promises to be a thrilling and competitive Games and exceptional showcasing of Caribbean and Commonwealth Sport.
“An invaluable springboard for the stars and leaders of tomorrow, the Games will be a truly special and inspiring experience for young athletes from across the Commonwealth.”
As the Commonwealth Games in Fiji, The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) is awaiting details on sports that Fiji will be invited to participate in and will then seek National Federations’ Expression of Interest of participation at the Commonwealth Youth Games.
FASANOC Chief Executive Lorraine Mar said we will enter into discussions with NFs on their participation at the CYG2023.
FASANOC has also received invitations for the following Games to be held in 2023:
• ANOC BEACH GAMES, Bali, Indonesia (5 – 12 August)
• PACIFIC GAMES, Honiara, Solomon Islands (19 November – 2 December)
Fiji last participated in the CYG in 2017 in the Bahamas in Athletics, Rugby 7s, Swimming and Tennis. Team Fiji won a bronze medal in the Rugby 7s competition.
