The Fiji Rugby Union nominations dominated the 2022 Fiji Sports Awards held at the Vodafone Arena on Saturday 25 March, 2023.
The National Federation won seven of the 11 awards up for grabs which included the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the year.
Fiji 7s halfback Jerry Tuwai won the Fiji Tattslotto Sportsman of the Year Award for a second time while Fijiana 7s captain Rusila Nagasau scooped the Fiji Tattslotto Sportswoman of the Year Award.
The Fiji 7s team was named the Asco Motors Team of the Year, former coach Gareth Baber was the Fiji Water Coach of the Year and rugby referee Tevita Rokovereni was awarded with the Sports World Technical Official of the Year.
FRU’s Vela Naucukidi took out the ONOC Hanisi Erasito Administrator of the Year while FRU won the Paradise Beverages Sports Organisation of the Year.
Robyn Eastgate of gymnastics won the Tappoo Young Female Athlete of the Year award while weightlifter Maciu Tauriwau scooped the Vodafone Young Male Athlete of the Year.
Basketball Fiji’s Sera Vugakoto took out the JAD Travel & Hertz Rent A Car Volunteer of the Year while The Fiji Times photographer Sophie Ralulu won the Fiji TV Sports Photograph of the Year.
