Team Fiji swimmers Hansel McCaig and David Young finished the 50 meters freestyle event in first and second place.
With links to Nagigi village in Savusavu, Hansel and David were both ecstatic about their win.
"This is something special and I would like to dedicate this medal to my grandmother because she has been with me from the start," said the 20 year old Hansel.
"My mindset going into the race was just about trusting myself and the process and everything else was muscle memory."
Hansel McCaig won gold in the mens 50 metres freestyle in 23.22 seconds.
Teammate Anahira McCutcheon also won a bronze medal in the womens 50 metres freestyle.
Team Fiji swimmers also delivered another medal in the 4×50 meters individual medley relay.
Fiji finished second in the final and settled for silver.
The quartet of David Young, Kelera Mudunasoko, Hansel McCaig and Anahira McCutcheon was beaten by New Caledonia who won gold.
The team clocked 1:52:01 seconds improving on their time from the heats of 1:54:73secs.
